[ Lectotype: ANSP; ♂ California, USA]

Melissodes lupinus View in CoL is primarily distributed west of the Rocky Mountains in North America, including in BC. LaBerge (1961) reported it from Angel de la Guarda Island. This species flight season is in the mid- to late- summer and their pollen preferences match the blooming period of many floral hosts in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL .
