[ Lectotype: USNM; ♂ Las Cruces , New Mexico, US; March 26, 1896]

This species is abundant in northern BC and both subspecies A. prunorum prunorum Cockerell, 1896 and A. prunorum sinaloa Viereck, 1926 can be found. There are records of 27 specimens (14 ♀, 11 ♂) collected in the Lower Colorado Desert in March 1966 vouchered in the BBSL and the AMNH ( GBIF 2023). We examined seven males, three collected in the Coastal Sage Matorral in March 1984, one in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in June 1953, and three in the Lower Colorado Desert in April 1965 (CASC). There are additional records from the Coastal Sage Matorral, Chaparral, and Lower Colorado Desert. Additionally, the BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in March and April 2021 (5 ♀, 2 ♂), Chaparral in 2021 (6 ♀, 3 ♂) and Central Desert in April 2023 (9 ♀, 1 ♂). Voucher specimens are in MABC (10 ♀, 3 ♂) and ECOAB (10 ♀, 3 ♂). See fig. 18.
