Description
Head. Chaetosemata not extended. Antenna of male not bipectinate.
Wings (Fig. 56). The dorsal surfaces of the wings are black and are traversed with several rows of iridescent blue scales. The ventral surface of the forewing is dark grey with a medial white band, and of the hindwing mostly white.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 206 View Figures 206–208 ). Uncus elongated, horned. Gnathos in form of a narrow band. Valva: sacculus hardly developed into a separate lobe. Vinculum: coremata arising from anterior corners.
Pregenital abdomen of male. Sternum A8 weakly emarginated and not strongly sclerotized. Sternum A3 with pecten ( Fig. 207 View Figures 206–208 ).
Female genitalia ( Fig. 208 View Figures 206–208 ). Signum absent; posterior half of corpus bursae lined with conspicuous striations.
Distribution. Borneo. (One species.)
Diagnosis. The wings and the male genitalia are highly distinctive.
Comments. The phylogenetic relationships of Lampadopteryx are unclear.
