Distribution: Species widespread in the Afrotropical Region.
Habitat and biology:This large salticid was commonly collected from foliage, especially in BW, but also occasionally in FP habitats. On one occasion in April more than 20 individuals were found on a single broadleaved shrub and the outside walls of a house at Crocodile Farm, where males were displaying to females and to one another. Two couples were observed mating. One adult female was observed with an ichneumonid wasp in its chelicerae ( Fig. 244). The biology of this species was studied in more detail by Wesolowska & Cumming (2004).
