Diagnosis. Female: The only species of Culicoides with the following combination of characters: wing with about apical 1/3 of second radial cell included in a pale spot; SCo distribution 1–12, irregular sensory pit on the third palpal segment. Male: the only species of Culicoides with the following combination of characters: wing with about apical 1/3 of second radial cell included in a pale spot; ninth sternite with spiculate membrane and SCo distribution 1–12.
Distribution. United Kingdom, France (including Corsica), Italia, Spain, Poland and Slovakia.
