Female. Integument reddish brown to dark brown. Head covered with yellowish pubescence. Frons with single seta near inner margin of the lower eye lobe. Lower eye lobe about 1.6 times as wide as upper lobe. Apical segment of labial palps as long as preceding and the basal about half as long as following. Apical segment of maxillary palps about 1/3 longer than preceding. Antennae exceeding elytral apex at antennomere 6 in females. Scape and pedicel covered with whitish pubescence; antennomere 3 covered with dark brown pubescence, except at apex, whitish; antennomeres 4–6 covered with whitish pubescence in half or basal third, the others antennomeres dark brown.

Prothorax twice as wide as long. Pronotum covered with yellowish pubescence, more concentrated on disc; anterior margin straight with sparse punctures; some punctures near posterior margin. Mesosternum and mesepimeron with smooth surface covered with whitish pubescence. Metepisternum with yellowish pubescence. Metasternum with a longitudinal median sulcus, not reaching the anterior margin, with yellowish pubescence, more concentrated on the sides. Scutellum with yellowish pubescence.

Elytra about 3.5 to 5.0 times as long as prothorax; apices rounded; covered with a mixture of dark brown and tawny brown pubescence with two short, zigzag, blue-grey bands, one before, the other after the median region; each side in the median region with a tawny spot encircled by a whitish ring; a narrow longitudinal ridge follows the elytral suture from the apical third to the apex. Legs with whitish pubescence; tibiae with long, black setae intercalated with dark brown pubescence. Urosternite 5 truncate at apex.

Type material. We examined the female holotype ( Figs 92–93 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ) from São Paulo de Olivença, Amazonas, Brazil ( MNHN).

Comments. This species can be distinguished from the others by the elytral pubescence ( Fig. 92 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ), with two short, zigzag, blue-grey bands, one before, and one after the median region; each side in the median region with a tawny spot encircled by a whitish ring.

Geographical distribution. Brazil (Amazonas) and Peru ( Fig. 111 View FIGURE 111 ).

Specimen examined. BRAZIL, Amazonas: São Paulo de Olivença, female holotype ( Figs 92–93 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ), 1952, H. W. Bates leg. (MNHN).
