( Figs 95 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ; 111)

Anoreina ayri Martins & Galileo, 2008: 73 View in CoL View Cited Treatment , fig. 2; Monné & Bezark, 2009: 219 (checklist).

Male. Integument reddish brown. Head covered with yellowish pubescence. Frons with one seta near inner margin of the lower eye lobe. Lower eye lobe about twice as wide as the upper lobe. Antennae long, exceeding elytral apex at antennomere 6 in males. Scape and pedicel covered with yellowish pubescence. Antennae covered with brown pubescence, except, antennomeres 4–6 with whitish pubescence on basal half.

Prothorax twice as wide as long and covered with yellowish pubescence. Pronotum anterior margin slightly sinuous, with continuous row of coarse punctures; two or three pairs of punctures near posterior margin. Scutellum with yellowish pubescence.

Elytra about 4.2 to 4.3 times as long as prothorax; apices rounded or obliquely truncate; covered with reddish brown pubescence, except: basal third with longitudinal black integument band, near humeri, clearly visible; band of whitish pubescence, little contrastive with the elytral pubescence, beginning in the posthumeral region and extending to the median region, reaching the suture; postmedian with irregular spots of reddish brown intercalated with yellowish pubescence; a narrow longitudinal ridge follows the elytral suture from the apical third to the apex. Legs with yellowish pubescence; tibiae apical half with dark brown pubescence and black, short setae.

Measurements, in mm, male. Total length, 4.4–5.4; prothorax length, 0.8–1.0; prothorax width, 1.3–1.7; elytral length, 3.1–3.9; humeral width, 1.7–2.0.

Type material. We examined the holotype ( Fig. 95 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ) and the paratype, both males, from Sucumbios, Ecuador ( MZSP).

Comments. Anoreina ayri ( Fig. 95 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ) resembles Anoreina helenae ( Fig. 96 View FIGURES 96 – 101. 96 ) by the elytra having a transverse median whitish band, contrasting little with the elytral pubescence and A. nana ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 90 – 95. 90 ) by the elytra basal third with a longitudinal black integumental band near humeri. Anoreina ayri differs from both by the pronotum having a continuous row of coarse punctures at the anterior margin. In Anoreina helenae the anterior margin of the pronotum lacks a row of coarse punctures and in A. nana the anterior margin of the pronotum has an interrupted row of coarse punctures.

Geographical distribution. Ecuador ( Fig. 111 View FIGURE 111 ).

Specimens examined. ECUADOR: Sucumbios, Rio Napo-Rio Aguarico (76º–77ºW), 2 males (holotype and paratype), IX–X.1977, L. Peña leg. (MZSP).
