Male. Integument reddish brown. Ventral region of the body with yellowish pubescence. Head with yellowish and whitish pubescence. Frons lacks erect seta near inner margin of lower ocular lobe. Lower eye lobe about twice as wide as the upper lobe. Apical segment of labial palp as long as preceding and basal about 1/3 as long as apical. Apical segment of maxillary palps twice as long as preceding. Antennae (Figs 10, 97) with sexual dimorphism, long, exceeding elytral apex at antennomere 7 in males and 8 in females. Scape with yellowish pubescence in dorsal region and whitish in ventral, pedicel with whitish pubescence on basal half and yellowish pubescence on apical half. Antennae with whitish pubescence, except: on apical third or half with brown pubescence and antennomeres 7 and 9 entirely brown.
Prothorax almost twice as wide as long; covered with yellowish pubescence and pronotum with some spots of whitish pubescence. Pronotum anterior margin distinctly sinuous, with interrupted row of coarse punctures; two pairs of coarse punctures near posterior margin. Metasternum with longitudinal median sulcus reaching anterior margin. Scutellum with yellowish pubescence.
Elytra about 4.0 to 4.5 times as long as prothorax; apices obliquely truncate; pubescence mostly yellowish brown, except: basal 1/4 with narrow and irregular band of dark brown pubescence; large median irregular band of yellowish pubescence bordered by whitish and dark brown pubescence; irregular spots of whitish pubescence on apical third. Narrow longitudinal ridge follows the elytral suture from the median region to the apex. Legs with yellowish pubescence; tibiae apical half with dark brown pubescence and short black erect setae. Urosternite 5 rounded at apex in females, and truncate in males.
Measurements, in mm, male/female. Total length, 7.3/8.4; prothorax length, 1.3/1.4; prothorax width, 2.3/2.6; elytral length, 5.3/6.3; humeral width, 3.3/3.6.
Etymology. The specific epithet is a posthumous homage to the first author’s father, Roosevelt Machado, in recognition for his great human quality and love.
Comments. Anoreina roosevelti ( Fig. 97 View FIGURES 96 – 101. 96 ) differs from all other species of the genus in having the frons without erect setae near the inner margin of the lower eye lobe, having the lower eye lobe about twice as wide as the upper lobe, having the anterior margin of the prothorax distinctly sinuous, having the elytra with a large, median, irregular band of yellowish pubescence bordered by whitish and dark brown pubescence, and having the elytral apices obliquely truncate.
Geographical distribution. Brazil (Mato Grosso) ( Fig. 111 View FIGURE 111 ).
