Description. This species first described from Korea by Lee et al. (2014) and we not found any variation with their description. We found that this species morphologically very close to Naratettix (N.) ibukisanus Matsumura, 1931 and very difficult to separate them without studying genital characters. Second sternal apodeme in male with posterior lobes widened at base, gradually narrowing with rounded apex, slightly exceeding 4th sternite.

Male genitalia. Pygofer lobe broad basally, not slanting downward at posterior angle, numerous scattered setae on near to ventrocaudal and dorsocaudal surface. Subgenital plate alike with other species, with 4 macrosetae at upper margin subbasally, and row of long microsetae on upper margin subbasally. Style long, with preapical lobe large, widened and truncate apically. Connective Y-shaped, compressed, with long narrow branches, diverging on widened arc. Aedeagal shaft long and straight, with pair of divergent process arising from basolateral part of shaft, shaft bent medially and almost uniformly widened in lateral view; dorsal apodeme short, weekly expanded; gonopore apical.

Length. Male 2.9−3.2 mm, female 2.9−3.2 mm.

Material examined. Korea, Chungbuk Province: 23 males & 34 females, Cheondeunsan, on Rhododendron sp., 1.X.2016, Y.J. Kwon; Gangwon Province: 5 males & 7 females, Hambaeksan, on Rhododendron sp., 11. VI.2016; Gyeongbuk Province: 1 female, Palgongsan, 22.IX.2011 ; 2 males & 4 females, Yecheon, on Rhododendron sp., 01. VI.2017; Gyeongnam Province: 4 females, Tongdosa Temple, 9.X.1979 ; Jeonnam Province: 4 males & 2 females, Illimsan, on Rhododendron sp., 06.V.2017; 10 males & 3 females, Sumun beach, on Rhododendron sp., 07.V.2017, all same collector.

Distribution. Korea (Central, South), Japan (Honshu).

Host plants. Rhododendron indicum , Rhododendron mucronulatum , Rhododendron yedoense var. poukhanense (Ericaceae) and Viburnum opulus var. calvescens (Caprifoliaceae) (cf. Lee et al. 2014a), Rhododendron sp. (observed).

Remarks. This species is a severe pest of azalea landscape shrubs of ( Rhododendron sp.) in Korea.
