Colletes xuezhongi sp. n.
( Figs 28 View FIGURE 28 a–e, 32v)
Diagnosis. This species is closely related to C. clypearis Morawitz and C. warnckei Kuhlmann. The female of C. xuezhongi sp. n. differs from C. clypearis in the more dispersed punctation on T1–2 ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 e) and the more densely punctate clypeus ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 b). From C. warnckei it differs by the more coarsely punctate clypeus ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 b) and the convex scutellum (almost flat in C. warnckei ). The male is unknown.
Description. Female, BL=8.5–9.0 mm ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 a); head broader than long, HW: HL=52: 48 ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 b); gena nearly as wide as eye in lateral view, GW: EW=11: 10; width of metasoma slightly narrower that between tegulae, MtW: TW=56: 58. Clypeus broader than long, densely and coarsely punctate ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 b); disc of scutum shiny, sparsely punctuate, i=2.0–5.0d ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 c); malar area medially nearly as long as width of mandible base; facial fovea narrower than width of antennal flagellum; vertex behind eye rounded; propodeum laterally covered with sparse long erect hairs, integumental sculpture completely visible; posterior margin of T1 opaque dark brown; punctation on disc of T1 fine, round and disperse, i=2.0–3.0d ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 e); T1 only with small white lateral hair patches, T2–T4 with complete apical hair bands, the bands broad, nearly 1/3 width as that of the related exposed terga, T2 with broad basal hair band, nearly 1/3 width as the exposed T2; sloping anterior and lateral anterior parts of T1 sparsely covered with erect white long plumose hairs ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 d, 28e); scutellum convex. Antennal flagellum ventrally black; distitarsus of all legs dark brown, other parts black. Face covered with dark pale brownish erect long plumose hairs; scutum covered with dark pale brownish erect long plumose hairs, not intermixed with some black hairs ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 c); mesepisternum covered with sparse long paler white plumose hairs ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 a).
Male unknown.
