N o t e: A second species H. hirsutus CHAMPION (1898) was described from Panama mainly based on different colouration. Neither CHAMPION (loc. cit.) nor USINGER & MATSUDA (1959: 370) studied both types and the question if the latter is a valid taxon is still not decided. KORMILEV & FROESCHNER (1987) listed both taxa.
