Observations:—This taxon has neither an apical pore field nor stigmata and therefore belongs more appropriately in Cymbopleura .

Distribution and Ecology: — Cymbopleura rainierensis is widespread and locally abundant in lakes, ponds and fens of the Pacific Northwest, where it prefers circumneutral waters with low levels of electrolytes.
