Redescription. Lectotype, male ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 a, c). Length 5.00 mm. Color dark ferruginous; head and pronotum black; with patches of cream-colored scales. Rostrum parallel-sided. Forehead coarsely punctate, microreticulate, with median impression. Pronotum 1.5 X wider than long; dorsally densely punctate; interspaces microreticulate; with small patches of cream-colored scales, arranged as follows: three patches along base, one pair of patches laterally, respectively subapically; laterally coarsely foveate, partly interspaces rugose. Elytron subbasally with punctures coarse, partly confluent; sutural interval behind scutellum with swelling; in apical half with irregular patches of cream-colored scales; base sinuate. Thoracic venter. Ventral rim of mesothoracic receptacle anteriorly punctaterugose, posteriorly microreticulate. Metaventrite with coarse punctures, without scales. Legs. Femora and tibiae sparsely clothed with narrow white scales. Profemur in basal 1/3 with distinct tooth. Abdominal venter with ventrites 1–2 punctate, without distinct scales. Ventrite 5 with coarse punctures partly confluent. Male terminalia. Penis ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b) with apex rounded.
Material examined. Male, lectotype by present designation: Indonesia, Maluku, Ceram (labels Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 d), ARC 4664 View Materials (PCR failed); condition: fair; right leg and part of metaventrite missing as originally mounted with minuten pin; remounted on card; genitalia in glycerol in microtube ( BMNH).
Distribution. Indonesia: Ceram.
Notes. Pascoe (1871b) did not designate a holotype nor specify the number of specimens examined. The only type specimen found at BMNH is here designated lectotype to achieve stability of nomenclature.
