Tropidonotus tytleri Blyth, 1863: 88 .—Type locality. “Andaman”, India.—Onomatophore. Holotype: ZSI 7402 (formerly ZSI 46 a ASB). Collected by Lt. - Col. Robert F. C. A. Tytler
Status. A valid species which includes populations of the Andaman Islands, as defined below. Previously, it had been synonymized with Tropidonotus quincunciatus by Theobald (1876: 175).
Comments. In contrast to the statement made by Smith (1943: 293), the type of this species is not lost (see Fig. 12–13).
