Distribution in Brazil: AP, PA, AM, MT, RO, BA, MG, MS, SP, RJ.

Biological aspects: This species was almost as common as N. lotus and has been collected on slow running areas or pools of 1 st to 3 rd order streams.

Comments: This species occurs on all Brazilian macrorregions except for the South, where it might be collected in the future, considering its presence in Paraguay and Argentina .
