Tribe Campsomerini Betrem, 1965
Trielidini Betrem, 1962: 26.
Trielini Betrem, 1965: 120.
Campsomerinae Betrem, 1965: 120; Betrem (in Betrem & Bradley), 1972: 25.
Campsomerini Betrem : Day et al., 1981: 672; Gupta & Jonathan, 2003: 20; Kim, 2009: 99.
Colpinae Argaman, 1996: 184.
Distribution. Cosmopolitan, but predominantly in tropical and subtropical areas.
Notes. The Trielidini of Betrem (1962, 1965), which is the same as the Colpinae of Argaman (1996), are included in the Campsomerini because there is no clear separation between these groups (e.g. the mandibular groove of the female and the presence of three submarginal cells of the fore wing are variable in both groups). The presence of spiculae on the antennal segments of males, the shape of the submandibular triangle and the anterior punctation of the first metasomal epipleuron are considered too minor for recognizing the Trielidini as a separate tribe for the moment. If this is corroborated by molecular evidence, then Campsomerini should be replaced by the older name Trielidini. Elidinae Ashmead, 1903, is sometimes listed under Campsomerinae, but it is a junior synonym of Myzininae Fox, 1894 (Thynnidae) ( Bartalucci 2004).
