( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 , 6, 17)

Female: Mandibles moderately tapered, upper tooth longer, stouter than lower tooth, upper tooth 1.3–1.5 times length, 2 width of lower tooth; malar space 0.4 times basal mandibular width; lower face polished, with fine punctures, fine and long hairs; as wide as medially high from supraclypeal suture to level of insertion of antenna. Head in dorsal view with genae evenly rounded behind eye; posterior ocellus separated from eye by 1.3 times its own maximum diameter; ocelli forming a wide-based isosceles triangle. Pronotum smooth, shining, with scattered hairs at the top. Mesoscutum shining, with fine punctuation and isolated fine hairs, anteriorly steeply rounded, with notauli clearly distinct; mesopleuron evenly punctuate, with abundant long hairs; epicnemial carina absent; metapleuron weakly convex, with abundant fine and long hairs; submetapleural carina complete. Propodeum in profile evenly declivous, with abundant long hairs on upper and lateral areas; pleural carina present. Fore wing length 5.4–5.9 mm; vein 3rs-m complete, enclosing an obliquely rhombic areolet; abscissa of Cu1 between 1 m-cu and Cu1b as long as Cu1b; hind wing with abscissa of Cu1 between M and cu-a straight, 1.5 times as long as cu-a. Metasoma moderately stout; tergite 1 as long as posteriorly broad, with an anteriorly smooth, broadly concave, central area defined laterally by weak longitudinal carinae on anterior 0.2 of tergite, posterior part of tergite shining, with fine punctuation and with scattered fine hairs laterally; tergite 1 in profile weakly convex, lateral carina absent; tergite 2 with biconvex central area, which is polished, very sparsely punctuate, with scattered hairs mainly on lateral areas; tergites 3–4 with biconvex central area, sparsely punctuate and with scattered hairs mainly on lateral areas. Ovipositor length 3.3–3.4 mm, projecting beyond apex of metasoma by 1.9 times the length of hind tibia; subgenital plate centrally membranous, ovipositor shaft almost straight, moderately stout and cylindrical; apex of lower valve not expanded dorsolaterally, not enclosing upper valve, with not clearly distinct subvertical teeth; apex of upper valve slightly flattened, with weak nodus.

Color: Head black, palpi and orbits white, clypeus orange, antenna dark brown; mesosoma orange, with anterior margin of pronotum, lower margin of metapleuron and dorsal face of propodeum black. Legs white; fore and middle legs with femur, tibia and tarsus tinged with light brown; hind legs white, tarsus dark brown and ventral face of coxae, trochanter, femur and tibia tinged dark brown. Tegula white. Wings slightly infumate; pterostigma dark brown. Metasoma black with white stripes on lateral margins of all tergites; tergites 2 and 5–7 with transverse white stripes on hind margin, tergites 3 and 4 with transverse white stripes in front of hind margin. Ovipositor reddish, sheath black.

Male: Unknown.

Etimology: This species is named in memoriam of Francisco Valera Rodríguez, junior author’s father.

Comments: Z. rodriguezi is recognized by absence of epicnemial carina and by showing mesosoma orange with black spots in pronotum, metapleura and propodeum. Z. rodriguesi is similar to Z. armandoi because epicnemial carina is absent and both of them show black head, white palps and mesosoma orange with anterior margin of pronotum black. They can be easily distinguished because lateral carina in tergite 1 is absent in Z. rodriguezi , and also by showing metasoma black and white, meanwhile it is orange-brown in Z. armandoi .

Material examined: Holotype female, Venezuela, Lara state, Yacambú National Park, El Blanquito, 1450 m, V-1985 (Díaz) ( UCOB). Paratype, 1 female, same locality as holotype, VI-1985 (Díaz) ( UCOB).
