Distribution. Cosmopolitan in temperate and tropical zones (Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans) ( Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx 2008; Meland & Ass 2013). While reviewing the western Mexico material of the SIO and of the Mazatlán collection, Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx (2008) mostly found material from within the Gulf of California ( Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx 2008: fig. 22). The material reported herein is from six localities along the west coast of the Baja California Peninsula, ranging roughly from 22°N to 32°N ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Additional material from SW Mexico examined herein add a new record (17°45’16”N) for this species in this area (see Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx 2008).
