Key to the Asian species of the genus Sonanus View in CoL
1. Second tergite long, with U-shaped median area delineated by relatively narrow furrows, almost as long as its basal width, 1.5–2.0 × longer than third tergite ( Figs 2B View FIGURE 2 ; 4B, E View FIGURE 4 ). Body dark reddish brown to reddish brown or light reddish brown on part of metasoma; head brownish yellow or paler ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 ; 3A View FIGURE 3 ).................................................... 2
- Second tergite short, with subround median area delineated by wide furrows, 0.75–0.80 × as long as its basal width, 1.1–1.3 × longer than third tergite. Body yellowish brown or reddish yellow at most part..................................... 3
2. Median lobe of mesoscutum with distinct medial depression ( Fig. 1J View FIGURE 1 ). Recurrent vein (m-cu) of fore wing interstitial to first radiomedial vein (2-SR) ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Second metasomal tergite 1.4–1.5 × longer than third tergite ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Second radial abscissa (3-SR) of fore wing 1.2 × longer than first abscissa (r); second radiomedial (submarginal) cell 0.7 × as long as brachial (first subdiscal) cell ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Body length 3.2–6.6 mm.— South Korea, China, Japan................................................................................................ S. senzuensis Belokobylskij & Konishi, 2001 View in CoL
- Median lobe of mesoscutum without depression ( Fig. 3H View FIGURE 3 ). Recurrent vein (m-cu) of fore wing distinctly postfurcal to first radiomedial vein (2-SR) ( Figs 4A, C View FIGURE 4 ). Second metasomal tergite 1.9–2.0 × longer than third tergite ( Fig. 4B, E View FIGURE 4 ). Second radial abscissa (3-SR) of fore wing 2.3–2.4 × longer than first abscissa (r); second radiomedial (submarginal) cell 1.1 × longer than brachial (first subdiscal) cell ( Figs 4A, C View FIGURE 4 ). Body length 2.0– 3.8 mm — South Korea.................. S. tselikhae sp. nov.
3. Second radial abscissa (3-SR) of fore wing long, 0.45 × as long as third abscissa (SR1), 1.4 × longer than first radiomedial vein (2-SR). Second radiomedial (submarginal) cell longer, 1.1 × as long as brachial (subdiscal) cell. Lateral part of second tergite (separated dorsally by lateral keel and ventrally by crease) subparallel and narrow (lateral view). Propodeum smooth in basolateral quarter. Hind tibia and tarsus yellow or reddish yellow. Body length 3.7 mm.— China (Henan)................................................................................... S. chinensis Belokobylskij & Chen, 2005 View in CoL
- Second radial abscissa (3-SR) of fore wing shorter, 0.3 × as long as third abscissa (SR1), almost equal to first radiomedial vein (2-SR). Second radiomedial (submarginal) cell shorter, 0.8 × as long as brachial (subdiscal) cell. Lateral part of second tergite (separated dorsally by lateral keel and ventrally by crease) divergent posteriorly and wide (lateral view). Propodeum rugulose in basolateral 1/4. Hind tibia and tarsus mainly dark brown, hind tibia yellow basally. Body length 4.2 mm.— India (Karnataka)............................................................................
