Diagnosis. 3+3 eyes, body without blue pigment, tubercles An on head separated from each other, labral chaetotaxy as /2, 2; mandible tridentate to multi-dentate, maxilla styliform or toothed, tubercle Oc with 1–3 chaetae, tubercle Fr present, each tubercle De and Dl on Th. II–III with a sensory chaeta, each tubercle L of Abd. I–IV with a sensory chaeta, tubercle De and tubercle Dl on Abd. V separated or fused.

Remarks. Paralobella differs from other genera of Lobellini by having a sensory chaeta on each tubercle L of Abd. I–IV. According to the above definition of Paralobella , seven species have to be transferred to genus Paralobella : Lobella apsala Yosii, 1976 , Lobella erawan Yosii, 1976 , Lobella kinabaluensis Yoshii, 1981 , Lobella paraperfusa Gapud, 1968 , Lobella penangensis Yosii, 1976 , Lobella sabahna Yoshii, 1981 and Lobella selangorica Yosii, 1976 .

The genus Paralobella includes now 11 species, all from Asia, according to the checklist given below.
