Material studied. Holotype male. VIETNAM, Ha Tinh, Huong Son , 18°22’N, 106°13’E, 1250 m, Malaise trap, 5.V.1998, Carpenter, Grimaldi, Herman, Silva & Long (in AMNH) GoogleMaps . Paratypes. VIETNAM, same data as holotype, 1 male (in AMNH) GoogleMaps ; same data as previous but 20.V.1998, 1 male (in MZH) GoogleMaps .

Description. Male. Head. Brown, antenna concolorous with face, maxillary palpus pale brown. Eye bridge 2–3 facets wide. Face with 4–5 dark long setae. Clypeus non-setose. Mouthparts strongly reduced. Maxillary palpus with one segment, with 3–6 pointed setae, with a large dorsal patch of sensilla. Antenna short, antennal flagellomeres laterally flattened, asymmetrical in relation to their necks, frontal part larger; densely setose, setae curved, body of 4 th flagellomere 1.6x as long as wide, the longest setae much shorter than the width of the flagellomere, neck shorter than wide. Thorax. Brown and unicolorous; setae dark. Anterior pronotum with 1–3 setae. Proepisternum with 2–5 setae. Scutellum with 4 long and many short setae. Wing. Fumose. Length 2.1 mm. Width/length 0.50. Anal lobe rather small. Hind margin with dorsal and ventral setae. Veins distinct. R1/R 1.40. c/w 0.85. bM shorter than r-m, stM longer than M-fork, stCu as long as bM. R5 joining c at about base of M-fork. R1 with dorsal and ventral setae, bM, r-m and StCu non-setose. Haltere pale brown. Legs. Yellow. Fore tibial organ unmodified, with some fine setae. Fore tibial spur longer than the tibial width. Abdomen. Pale brown; setae long, dark, and robust. Hypopygium, Figs 8 B View FIGURE 8 , 11 B View FIGURE 11 . Brown, like the abdomen, broad; setae dark. Gonocoxa broad, slightly longer than gonostylus. Gonocoxae fused, ventromedial margin distinct, intergonocoxal area broad and short, microtrichose, setose medially. Setosity of gonocoxa long and dense. Apicomedial seta poorly differentiated. Gonostylus rather tumid, rather wide medially, impressed dorso- and ventromedially, with distinct medial lobe, with short, slender, slightly constricted basally, slightly curved apical tooth with a small megaseta attached to its ventral side, with 2 megasetae subapically near the apical tooth, and 3 on the medial lobe, the megasetae slender and hyalinous, slightly curved. Tegmen slightly broader than long, distinctly curved laterally, hyalinous but weakly sclerotized basolaterally, with tiny aedeagal teeth. Aedeagal apodeme broad with robust apical fork.

Female. Unknown.

Discussion. See under Pseudoaerumnosa obovata sp. n.
