Cryptalaus emarginatus ( Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996) comb. nov.

Chalcolepis emarginatus Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996: 66 (original description; type locality: Jatinga , Dima Hasao district, Assam, India).

Distribution. INDIA: Assam.

Remarks. The morphological characters mentioned in the original description are not of the Neotropical genus Chalcolepis Candèze, 1857 ( Casari 2008). Based on the original description and illustration of the male genitalia ( Punam, Vats & Saini 1996: 66; Fig. 5 ), the species is transferred to the genus Cryptalaus and we propose Cryptalaus emarginatus ( Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996) comb. nov.
