Cryptalaus truncatus ( Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996) comb. nov.

Chalcolepis truncatus Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996: 67 (original description; type locality: Assam, India).

Distribution. INDIA: Assam.

Remarks. Punam et al. (1996) described Chalcolepis truncatus from Assam based on a single male specimen. The genus Chalcolepis is restricted to the American continent and the description in the publication agrees well with the characters of the genus Cryptalaus ( Parekar & Patwardhan 2021) . Based on the original description and illustration of the male genitalia ( Punam, Vats & Saini 1996: 66–67; Fig. 4 ), we transfer this species to the genus Cryptalaus and propose Cryptalaus truncatus ( Punam, Vats & Saini, 1996) comb. nov.
