Ochterus perbosci ( Guérin-Méneville, 1843) View in CoL
Geographic distribution. United States ( Schell 1943), Mexico ( Guérin-Méneville 1843), Guatemala ( Osborn & Drake 1915), Belize (D. Polhemus & J. Polhemus 2016), Honduras ( Passoa 1983), Nicaragua ( Nieser 1975), Costa Rica ( Schell 1943), Panama ( Drake 1952c), Aruba, Curaçao ( Cobben 1960b), St. Vincent & the Grenadines ( Uhler 1893), Grenada ( Uhler 1894a), Trinidad & Tobago ( Nieser & Alkins-Koo 1991), Colombia ( Drake 1952c), Venezuela (D. Polhemus & J. Polhemus 2016), Suriname ( Nieser 1975), Brazil ( Nieser & Melo 1997), Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay ( Schell 1943).
Distribution in Peru. Madre de Dios ( Peralta-Argomeda 2011), unknown department ( Schell 1943; Drake 1952c).
Notes. Some of the specimens recorded from St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Grenada as Pelogonus marginatus Latreille, 1804 (= O. marginatus (Latreille, 1804)) ( Uhler 1893, 1894a) actually belong to this species ( Kment et al. 2020). Records from Cuba are erroneous ( Muñoz et al. 2010; D. Polhemus & J. Polhemus 2016). The incorrect subsequent spelling in prevailing usage “ perbosci ” (instead of the original spelling “ perboscii ”) was fixed by Kment et al. (2020).
