Batriasymmodes cavicrus (Casey) View in CoL

Park (1965), in his revision of Batriasymmodes , treats this species as occurring only in the southeastern United States, which is surprising since he had previously published records (Park 1947; Park 1956) documenting its presence in Indiana (Crawford Co.) and Ohio (Hamilton Co., Cincinnati). These comments were probably based on statements by Blatchley (1910) that B. cavicrus was rare in Crawford Co., but that Dury found it to be plentiful near Cincinnati.

Specimen examined. Indiana: Monroe Co., Patton Cave, Deam Wilderness Area , Hoosier National Forest , 12 mi SE Bloomington, IX-9-2002, Julian Lewis, Salisa Rafail, H. Huffman (1 male) .
