Usually, most abundantly in large springs that bring clean, freshwater to the river. Freshwater.

Migrates to the upper reaches of tributaries to spawn. Spawns in riffles with heavy current on gravel bottom. Freshwater.

Remarks. Both Mangıt and Yerli (2018) and Bektaş et al. (2020) suggested that A. schischkovi is a synonym of A. derjugini . By the way, Parin et al. (2014) suggested that both A. derjugini and A. schischkovi are a synonym of A. mento . Therefore, these situations should be clarified with detailed comparative studies.
