Torodora leucochlora species complex

T. leucochlora (Meyrick) was described from Kuching, Malaysian Borneo and placed in the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Shäffer ( Meyrick, 1910) . Later it was transferred to Harbrogenes Meyrick, 1918, by Clarke (1965).

However, the genus Harbrogenes was synonymized with Torodora by Gozmány (1978). The species group is characterized by the orange-white ground color of wings and body, but the wing venation agrees well with that of Torodora ( Fig. 12 ). The male genitalia are characterized by the broadly expanded cucullus and H-shaped juxta, and the female genitalia have a long ductus bursae, and an elongate, densely scobinate signum. The following two species known from Malaysian Borneo and the Philippines are reviewed here. T. eupatris (Meyrick) , which is known from Khasi Hills, Assam (lectotype in BMNH), also certainly belongs to this species-complex, but it is not included in this review, due to unavailability of material. The species can be easily distinguished from T. leucochlora and T. niphadodes Park , sp. nov. by having large blackish patches on the forewing.
