Described from Europe, this species was reported from Iran, Gorgan Province, based on several females and males taken from ‘‘shrubs’’ (zur Strassen 2003). However, no specimens of this species have been examined during the present studies. The following diagnosis is taken from Schliephake and Klimt (1979), and Priesner (1964).
Diagnosis
Body brown to dark brown; all femora brown to dark brown, concolourous with body; fore tibiae brown, yellowish apically, mid and hind tibiae brown to dark brown, all tarsi yellowish; antennal segments I and II brown to dark brown, almost concolourous with head, segment III yellow; forewings pale except for basal shading, major body setae dark brown. Head with postocular setae much shorter than eyes, pointed at apex; cheeks weakly rounded; maxillary stylets retracted to postocular setae, head with maxillary stylets 0.37–0.41 of head width apart; antennal segment III with one sensorium. Major setae not long, pointed at apex, pronotal anteromarginal setae well developed. Mesopresternum boat shaped. Fore tarsal tooth absent (cf. Figures 4, 5, 7 View Figures 1–9 ), even in male; pelta triangular; tergite IX setae S1, S2, S3 pointed (cf. Figure 31 View Figures 22–31 ), S1 as long as tube.
