This widespread, but rarely seen eucnemid species was previously known from Alabama, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Otto and Karns 2017). I confirm it here for the first time in South Carolina as a new state record. Two specimens were taken from Lindgren funnel traps baited with Ips lure. SOUTH CAROLINA: USA: SC: Georgetown Co. / 33.3046° N, 79.2381° W / Baruch / Hobcaw Barony / v.15.2015, M. Caterino / S. Myers & A.
