Type species: Noctua rubicunda [Denis and Schiffermüller] (a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena miniata Forster ).
Diagnosis. The genus is mainly diagnosed by its male genitalia where the valva is divided into distal costal and saccular process, absence of the medial costal process which is present in some other related genera of the subtribe Nudariina Walker (e.g., Barsine Walker , Nepita Moore , Cyme Felder , Melanaema Butler , Asura Walker and Quadrasura Holloway ); vesica has large, well separated cornuti, their number may vary from single cornutus to many, prominent, well formed, long spines. Female genitalia with extensive fields of long spines ( Holloway 2001; Kirti & Singh 2016).
