Type material. Holotype: male, Sri Lanka: Kandy District, Kandy, 549 m, Peak View Motel, 15. – 24. Jan. 1970, Davis & Rowe leg. ( NHMB).
Paratypes: Sri Lanka: 1 male, Moneragala District, Wellawaya, 28. Sep. 1975, D.M. Davies, S. Karunaratne, D.W. Balasooriya leg. ( NHMB); 1 male, Galle District, Kanneliya Jungle, 13. –16. Aug. 1972, K.V. Krombein & P.B. Karunaratne leg. ( NHMB).
Diagnosis. Antennomeres 1–6 yellow to light brown, penultimate abdominal tergum basally rounded, lateral openings between terminal abdominal tergum and lateral projections of penultimate tergum circular basally, male genitalia with broadly V-shaped phallobase.
Description. Body length 5.2-5.5 mm, humeral width 2.4 mm. Antennomeres 1–6 yellow to light brown. Antennomeres 7-11, elytral margins, suture, and apex of elytra dark brown. Distance between eyes 2× longer than eye diameter. Antennae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 4. 1 – 2 ) with median lamellae about 2.7× longer than antennomere body, apical lamellae moderately shorter. Antennomeres 1-6 yellow to light brown, other antennomeres dark brown. Enlarged terminal palpomeres of maxillary palpi about 2.5× longer than its width. Terminal palpomere of labial palpi 3.3× longer than width. Elytra elongate, each elytron about 2.7× longer than width. Penultimate abdominal tergum rounded basally ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 5 – 10. 5 – 8 ), lateral longitudinal projections of penultimate tergum reniform, terminal tergum longer than paramerae, pointed distally, provided with moderately hooked thorn in 2/3. Longitudinal apertures between terminal tergum and lateral projections of penultimate tergum circular basally. Male genitalia ( Figs 7, 8 View FIGURES 5 – 10. 5 – 8 ) with broadly V-shaped phallobase, parameral apices rounded. Phallus with almost circular outline in ventral view, apex rounded.
Etymology. Named in honor of late Walter Wittmer ( Switzerland, Basel). Distribution. Sri Lanka.
