EOO: 39.956 km ². AOO: 20 km ². Evaluation of IUCN: Endangered.

Eugenia ravenii occurs only in the state of Chiapas. The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) falls within the thresholds of Critically Endangered category under the criterion B, whilst the area of occupancy (AOO) falls between the thresholds of Critically Endangered and Endangered categories. There are only two know locations, the first location from the five records in Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán and the second location from the record in Chalchihuitán, both are separated by only 37 Km. The occurrence biome is the remnants of the Humid Montane Forest from 1,470 to 1,740 m elev. The species’ habitat is in a good state of conservation, because the forests in mountainous areas are not attractive for large-scale agricultural production. However, the forests where Eugenia ravenii can be found are not subject to any official protection, and in some cases they may be used for forestry activities such as logging of native species and local consumption of firewood and charcoal ( CONABIO 2018). The species can be considered as rare due to the low number of collections and the restricted distribution. Therefore, Eugenia ravenii can be classified as Endangered (EN) as it meets the criteria B1ab(iii)+B2ab(iii) regarding its restricted distribution, only two locations related to an inferred continuing decline of habitat, as there is no conservation action in place for this species.
