Type locality. KZN, Howick, in detritus near the Umgeni Falls.
Distribution. Species known from few distant sites in three provinces. KZN midlands: near Pietermaritzburg in Howick area. Farm ‘Camin’ between Pietermaritzburg and Greytown. Karkloof National Park under moss in Podocarpus forest. Drakensberg: Game Pass; Garden Castle, N-slope in seepage area, grassland with Themeda grass, herbs and few shrubs. EC: Several sites at coastal mountain range at Drakensberg Amatola footsteps: Hogsback, Auckland Forest, mixed riverine bush. FS: Ficksburg vicinity at 1850 m, bush vegetation.
Remarks. Holotype NMSA/Olig.00273. Syntypes: ZMH V-7521, V-7500; NMSA/Olig.00272. Other material: BMNH 1938.7.1.1368–1369, 1938.7.1.1370–1371 contains material mounted on slides; HNHM AF/ 2596, AF/3612; NMSA/Olig.00694.
