Jalaeian et al. (2004) identified this species under the name of Pachylaelaps brachiosus based on one female specimen (M. Jalaeian, July 2015, personal communications), while the original description of that species by Hirschmann & Krauss (1965) was based on a male specimen. Therefore, here we removed it from the list of the Iranian species.
