Walckenaeria obtusa Blackwall, 1836 View in CoL
Description: Wiehle (1960: 169, figs 295–300), Roberts (1987: 28, fig. 3b).
New records: Setúbal: Arrábida NP, Serra da Arrábida , 2 females, 24.III.1998 (CPC) .
Distribution: Palearctic. First record in the Iberian Peninsula.
Habitat type: The single Iberian record is from a Quercus coccifera forest.
Phenology: Only collected in March. In Central Europe, Wiehle (1960) found adults from autumn to spring.
Despite this recent increase, our data also suggest that many more linyphiid species remain to be found in Portugal. Some of the species cited from Portugal may have been mistaken for species that were not well known in that time and their status should therefore be checked. We list seven species whose presence in Portugal should be confirmed with verified material: Centromerita concinna (Thorell, 1875) , Centromerus europaeus (Simon, 1911) , Gonatium ensipotens (Simon, 1881) , Helophora insignis (Blackwall, 1841) , Ipa keyserlingi (Ausserer, 1867) , Saaristoa abnormis (Blackwall, 1841) and Turinyphia clairi ( Simon, 1884) .
