Description: Wiehle (1956: 331, figs 545–550), van Helsdingen (1970: 9, figs 1–8), Roberts (1987: 164, fig. 86b), Bosmans (2006a: 145, figs 65–68).

Previous records: Aveiro: Anadia ( Franganillo Balboa 1920). Coimbra: Coimbra ( Bertkau 1893; Bacelar 1928). Évora: Reguengos de Monsaraz, Herdade do Esporão ( Nobre & Meierrose 2000). Leiria: Mira ( Bacelar 1940; van Helsdingen 1970). Porto: Penafiel, São Mamede de Recezinhos ( Simon 1898). Setúbal: Arrábida NP, Vale da Rasca ( Cardoso et al. 2008a).

New records: Aveiro: Oliveira de Azeméis (CBM); Ovar, Esmoriz (CBM). Beja: Serpa, Pulo do Lobo , 1 female, marshy area along Rio Guadiana , 23.V.2007 (CRB). Coimbra: Paúl de Arzila NR, 4 females, 15.III– 24.V.2006 (CLC). Faro: Vila Real de Santo António , Monte Gordo, 1 female, 5.IV.1971 (CJFM). Santarém: Paúl do Boquilobo NR, Torres Novas, montado, 4 males 31 females, 6.II–2.V.2002 (CPC). Setúbal: Alcácer do Sal, Sta. Catarina, in herbs bordering rice fields, 1 male 2 females, 25.V.2007 (CRB) .

Distribution: Palearctic.

Habitat type: In open, wet habitats with dense vegetation.

Phenology: In Portugal collected from January to May.
