Description: Wiehle (1956: 69, figs 109–111), Roberts (1987: 128, fig. 66d).

Faro: Albufeira, Algarão da Ribeira de Alte ( Machado 1949). Porto: Valongo, Fragas do Diabo ( Machado 1949); Valongo, Serra de Pias ( Machado 1949). Lisboa: Serra de Montejunto, Fontaínhas, Buracos Mineiros ( Machado 1949).

New records: Leiria: Serras de Aire e Candeeiros NP , Porto de Mós, Barrenta , 2 females, 9.IV.2002 (CPC) . Santarém: Serras de Aire e Candeeiros NP, Vila Nova de Ourém, Bairro , 2 females, 3.XII.2002, 4 females, 22.X.2002 (CPC) .

Distribution: Europe.

Habitat type: The species prefers mountain forests but can also be found in caves.

Phenology: In temperate Europe and in Spain adult in winter ( Wiehle 1956; Ribera & Hormiga 1985). The few records in Portugal agree with this.
