Description: Bosmans (1986: 99, figs 34–41).

New records: Beja: Vale do Guadiana NP, Serpa, Caminho de Limas , 1 female, 26.III.2003; Mértola, montado, 1 male, 26.II.2003 (all CPC) . Bragança: Douro Internacional NP, Mogadouro, Bruçó , 1 female 4.IV, 2 males 14–28.XI.2001; Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Picotino, 2 females, 7.II and 21.III.2002 (all CPC) . Évora: Portel , 1 female, 8.IV.1996 (CRB) .

Distribution: Western Mediterranean.

Habitat type: Found in closed forests, although occasionally also in other habitat types.

Phenology: Overwintering species, found from November to March.
