FIGURES. 44–45. Habitus of Bifurcipentatoma roseicornuta ( Zheng & Ling, 1983) , holotype (44—dorsal view, 45—ventral view).

Diagnosis. The long spine of abdominal base extending to middle of metacoxae is very unique in the genus Bifurcipentatoma (fig. 1). The other species have only tubercles slightly or not produced anteriorly. Body large. Pronotum red along lateral margins, serration of anterolateral margins narrowly and regularly black; transverse area behind calli sparsely punctured. Each humeral angle of pronotum bifid, the anterior tooth sharp and robust, the posterior tooth short and blunt. Antennomere 1 reaching apex of clypeus, antennomere 3 slightly longer than 2. Rostrum relatively short, reaching between metacoxae. Peritreme curved with round apex and about as long as 1/3 width of evaporatorium.

Male genitalia. Excavation of ventral margin of pygophore deep and round at center (fig. 46). Paramere (figs. 48–49) plate–like with apical half nearly oval, apical margin more or less truncated and a little concave, a short blunt process at base in the inner side. Aedeagus (figs. 50–51) with a pair of sclerotized dorsal processes; conjunctiva with a long membranous apical conjunctival lobe, and two slightly sclerotized appendages at the ventral side. Vesica stout and slightly produced.

Female genitalia (fig. 52). Gonocoxites 1 thick, mesial margins slightly concave, widely separated, apices rounded, outer margins convex. Paratergites 8 and 9 about equal in length.

Distribution. Southwest, Southern and Central China (Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hubei, Hunan).
