Pentatoma acuticornuta Zheng & Ling, 1983: 234 –235; Ling & Zheng, 1987: 41, 44, 46; Rider, 2006: 331.
Types examined. CHINA: Sichuan Province: Holotype: male, Mount. Emei (29°32'N, 103°19'E), 24. VIII. 1961, Ji–kun Yang leg. (NKUM). Paratype: 1 male, same data as holotype except the date 25. VI. 1961 (NKUM).
Diagnosis. Each humeral angle of pronotum strongly produced laterad, elevated upwards, apex bent forward and passing beyond anterior margin of adjacent eye (fig. 4). Rostrum reaching posterior half of abdominal sternum 3. Peritreme shorter than 1/3 width of evaporatorium. Abdominal basal process blunt, slightly produced forwards and just reaching metacoxae.
Male genitalia. Ventral margin of pygophore concave and sinuate medially (fig. 31). Each paramere (figs. 33–34) nearly L–shaped with outer margin roundly laminate, apex bluntly produced, a subapical triangular thin process pointing to the inner side, a short, narrow, finger–like process at base. Aedeagus (figs. 35–36) with a pair of sclerotized dorsal processes; conjunctiva with a well developed membranous apical lobe bearing two lateral small lobes, ventral side of conjunctiva with two slightly sclerotized but not elevated areas. Median penial plate oblong. Vesica short and slim.
Distribution. South–west China (Sichuan).
