Type materials: male, with labels as follows: “ HOLOTYPUS, Lepidophallus , punctatissimus sp. n., Bordoni det. 2002” / “‘ CHINA: W-Hubei,’ 8 km, NW Muyuping, ‘31°29.172N,’ 110°22.089E, [C01-16]” / “ 1540 m, ‘S-slope,’ small creek, ‘valley,’ 18.VII.2001, leg. D.W. Wrase ” / “Sammlung, M. Schülke, Berlin” ( CS); female, with labels as follows: “ PARATYPUS, Lepidophallus , punctatissimus sp. n., Bordoni det. 2002” / “‘ CHINA: W-Hubei,’ 8 km, NW Muyuping, ‘31°29.172N,’ 110°22.089E, [C01-16]” / “ 1540 m, ‘S-slope,’ small creek, ‘valley,’ 18.VII.2001, leg. Distribution. China (Hubei).
Remarks. This species could be distinguished from its congeners by: 1) body large (ca. 10 mm), dark brown, except the last abdominal segment light brown; 2) head densely punctate, except a narrow, impunctate median longitudinal ridge, interspaces between punctures no more than 1/2 of puncture diameter; 3) anteocular furrow puncture diameter; 6) anterior angle of pronotum either not developed or protruding, but rounded; 7) mesoscutellum extensively covered with polygonal reticulum; 8) abdominal segments densely punctate, interspaces between punctures ca. puncture diameter; 9) posterior margin of tergite VIII bisinuate; 10) median lobe of aedeagus distinctly oblong, inner sac two-chain shaped.
