Bordoni, 2012a: 298 (Type locality: N Yunnan, Diqing Tibet Aut. Pr., Deqing Co., Meili Xue Shan, E side, 14 km W Deqin, 2580 m)
Type material: male, with labels as follows: “ HOLOTYPUS, Megalinus , tibetanus sp. n., Bordoni det. 2011” / “ CHINA: N-Yunnan Diqing Tibet, Aut. Pr. Deqin Co. Meili Xue, Shan E-side 14km W Deqin, 28º 27.47′N, 98 º 46.35′E 2580 m, 11.VI.2005 A. Smetana [C158]” ( NMW) .
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Remarks. This species could be distinguished from its congeners by: 1) anterior half of head bearing some elliptical, small punctures mixed among median-sized punctures; 2) basal three antennomeres black with reddish apexes; 3) admedian row consisting of 8–9 punctures; lateral row, curvedly arranged, of 8–9 punctures; 4) mesoscutellum extensively covered with transverse microstriae; 5) each side of elytra bearing 5–6 rows of punctures; 6) interspaces between punctures on abdomen of 4–5 punctures’ diameter; 7) median lobe of aedeagus egg-shaped and large, inner sac with expanded basal membrane and distinct subapical large spines.
