Material examined. DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Holotype ♂ — Mus. Roy. Afr. Centr., Lualaba: Ruwe , VII.1960, Dr. V. Allard ( MRAC); 9 Paratypes, idem.; 1 ♂ — Katanga, Kolwezi (lumiere), 1.1962, Dr. V. Allard ( MRAC) . NAMIBIA: 1 ♀ — Namibia, Popa Falls , 18°07'S / 21°35'E, 4.VIII.1994, leg. J. Deckert ( MNHUB) . ZAMBIA: 1 ♂— Zambia NW, 15 km E of Solwezi , 17.10.2008, Lgt. Snižek (cSF); 1 ♀ — Zambia NC 8.XI.2005, 27 km E Solwezi, leg. Snižek (cSF); 1 ♀ — South Kafue NP, X.2009, Lassalle coll. (cPS).

Diagnosis. Resembles S. (s.str.) shavrini sp. n., in body shape, elongate elytra, and extremely dense punctuation of head and pronotum, but can be easily distinguished by uniformly dark brown body. Length 6–7 mm. Body usually uniformly dark brown ( Fig. 1 ), immature specimens with visible triangular elytral band ( Fig. 2 ). Head and pronotum with strong, almost isodiametric microsculpture throughout, deeply irregularly punctate, punctures near eyes and on the sides of pronotum almost confluent, on the disk of pronotum separated by no more than 1–2 diameters. Pronotum transverse, 1.43–1.52 times as wide as long. Elytra elongate, subparallel, 1.6 times as long as wide, with polygonal microsculpture. Striae deep and very finely punctate. Intervals slightly convex. Claws with 6 teeth. Abdominal sterna with pubescence. Propleuron strongly rugose, mesepisterna slightly punctate, metepisterna slightly transversely rugose. Aedeagus ( Fig. 20 ). Tip of aedeagus downturned. Internal sac with one group of short spines.

Distribution. Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Zambia ( Fig. 34).
