Polysphincta View in CoL View at ENA genus-group

This group comprises about 22 genera worldwide ( Matsumoto 2016), of which nine genera with about 27 species occur in Mexico. Three genera and 11 species and subspecies are recorded from Mexico for the first time, and additional new faunistic records are provided from Central America and USA. Two species of the genus Polysphincta are described as new to science, one species of Eruga is synonymized, and additionally two species of Schizopyga from Cuba and Brazil are transferred to the genus Dreisbachia .

Identification keys to the species occurring in Mexico are provided for all genera.
