Diagnosis. Tergites 3–6 with paramedian subrectangular black spots ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); descendant plate of the anterior cercus with lateroventral expansion in posterior view ( Fig. 207 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); phallus narrow at base, widening towards the apex, with a large dorsal subapical appendix ( Fig. 209 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ).

Description. Male ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Head: Face parallel-sided, dark brown with gray pruinescence visible in ventral view, about 6X longer than lower width. Ocellar tubercle protuberant, dark brown with brown pruinescence; ocelli brown. Scape, pedicel and postpedicel yellow with yellow bristles; postpedicel about 2X longer than pedicel; stylus lost. Proboscis yellow, shorter than head height. Thorax yellow, shiny ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Legs yellow, except for hind femur and tibia with brown apical ring and all tarsomeres 4–5 black; hind tibia and tarsus with anterodorsal and posterodorsal rows of longer bristles. Wing hyaline, pterostigma, brown, conspicuous, about 2.8X longer than wide ( Fig. 204 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Halter yellow. Abdomen yellow, shiny; tergites 3–6 with paramedian subrectangular black spots ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); tergite 8 divided in two subrectangular plates; sternite 8 divided in two trapezoidal plates. Terminalia: Anterior cercus with reclinate dorsal projection in lateral view ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ), subrectangular in dorsal view ( Fig. 206 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); descendant plate with lateroventral expansion in posterior view ( Fig. 207 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Posterior cercus with rounded apex and a median subtriangular projection in lateral view ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); with a dorsal subbasal pointed projection ( Fig. 206 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Hypoproct subtriangular in lateral view ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ) and comma-shaped in posterior view ( Fig. 207 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Epandrial ventral lobe slightly bilobate at apex ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ); with spiniform bristles apically on ventral lobe and longer bristles mesially on dorsal lobe ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Hypandrium longer than wide, with rounded apex and median sinus ( Fig. 210 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ), without long bristles. Phallus narrow at base, widening towards the apex, longer than hypandrium, with a large dorsal subapical appendix ( Fig. 209 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Subepandrial sclerite wider than long, U-shaped ( Fig. 208 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Bacilliform sclerite folded and longer than subepandrial sclerite ( Fig. 208 View FIGURES 203 – 210 ). Specimen length: 2.5 mm; wing length: 3.4. Female. Unknown.

Geographical distribution. Brazil (Amazonas).

Type material. HOLOTYPE ♂, labelled: Brasil, AM, P[arque] N.[acional] Jaú, Rio Unini, 20–24.vi.1996. 01º43’54’’S; 61º54’32’’W / Suspensa baixa T[erra] firme. Henriques, Vidal & Oliveira ( INPA).

Holotype condition. Left postpedicel and both styli lost; notopleurals bristles lost; mid legs and right hind leg lost; apex of the left wing mounted on microslide; abdomen in microtube with glycerin.

Etymology. The specific name is a tribute to Zuleide G. Teixeira, the senior author’s mother, due to her dedication and unconditional love.
