Type: Collected in 1974 in the vicinity of the railway station Auresina – San Pelagio ( Italy, prov. Trieste) […] (‘t Hart s.n., 16685, July 1976 ( U, iso TSB!).

Homotypic synonyms: Sedum montanum Song. & Perr. subsp. orientale ‘t Hart (1978: 106), Petrosedum orientale (‘t Hart) Grulich (1984: 41), Sedum pseudorupestre Gallo in Gallo e Bracchi (2005: 50).

Perennial plant with non flowering shoots creeping and rooting, densely leafy for lanceolated and glaucous leaves. Flowering stem erect, 20–45 cm, inflorescence erect before the anthesis, somewhat scorpioid, glabrous or glandular, bracteate; flowers (5) 6 (7) merous, obdiplostemonous, with triangular-lanceolated sepals (3–4 mm) and petals spreading or semi-erect, yellow lemon; filaments yellow, papillose at their bases, styles slightly outwards at the anthesis.
