( Figs. 5–7 View FIGURE 5 View FIGURE 6 View FIGURE 7 )

Female description. Equal to males in general aspect ( Figs. 6 View FIGURE 6 A–B). Head: Cephalic tubercle short ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ), lateral carina of tubercle inconspicuous. Punctures coalescent and dense on vertex. Clypeus slightly shorter and broader than in male; wrinkles dense on surface of clypeus ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Ocular canthus slightly convex on outer side ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Antennae shorter than in male, lamellae slender than lamellae of male and shorter than the other antennomeres combined. Mouthparts: Mandibles slightly more slender, apically with a slight concavity on outer side ( Figs. 7 View FIGURE 7 A–B).

Mentum with 2 apical projections in females ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ), absent in males. Thorax: Pronotum more convex than male, with a slight anterior protrusion between pronotal tubercles; tubercles nearly obsolete ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ). Pronotal punctures more coalescent anteriorly and medially, wrinkled near anterior angles. Scutellar surface more punctate basally than medially, punctures on base smaller than on disc, discal punctures setose. Elytra: Shape more round than in male. Disc with deep, annular punctures mixed with coalescent punctures. Surface more rugose, and punctures more coalescent near scutellum than on disc. Legs: Protibiae tridentate with trace of a fourth basal tooth as in males. Tergite VIII: Disc with small punctures more scattered than in males, posterior angles with punctures smaller than on disc, wrinkles present. Long bristles more dense on sides, disc glabrous.

Measurements. Body length: 26.9 mm. Head width: 5.2 mm. Pronotal width: 11.1 mm. Elytral length: 17.2 mm. Elytral width: 9.4 mm. Protibial length: 5.2 mm.

Geographic distribution. Argentina: Catamarca and Tucumán ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ) .

Material examined. One female and one male at CERPE with the following data: a) “ ARGENTINA, / Tucumán, Infiernillo, / 3048 m— 10.i.2008 / E. Abadie Leg.”; one male at IFML with the following data: a) “Cumbre Infierniello / 3.xi.18 ”; two males at IFML with the following data: a) “Valle S. Maria / Entre Rios / xii.1933 ”, b) “ Colacus / morio / Ohaus / J. M. Bosq det. 1946”; two males at IFML with the following data: a) “Qda. Carapunco / (Tafi) 2500 m / xi.1932 ”, b) “ Colacus / morio / Ohaus/ J. M. Bosq det. 1946”.

Remarks. In his review of Colacus, Neita-Moreno (2015) synonymized C. endroedii Martínez with C. morio Ohaus , redescribing the male but apparently not considering the description of the female made by Abadie et al. (2008). In that work, Abadie et al. (2008) opted to avoid large and repetitive descriptions and emphasized mainly six traits that separate males from females. Here we expand on the basic characters used by Abadie et al. (2008) to fully describe the female.
