Thelepus sp. , Londoño-Mesa & Carrera-Parra, 2005:10, Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A-E.

Material examined: Mexican Caribbean : Quintana Roo State: ECOSUR TERE-28 (1) Chinchorro Bank (18°35'51"N 87°20'20.5"W), 3.X.1983 GoogleMaps . TERE-28 (1) Cozumel Island (20°23'45.1"N 86°51'53.5"W), 5.VI.1995 GoogleMaps . Central America : UMML 22.1012 View Materials (1) Gulf of Honduras (15°58'N 88°20'W), R/V “Pillsbury” Sta. 613; 19.III.1968, 39m. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis: Thorax dorsally swollen after segment 6; mid-ventral groove from segment 15, tentacular membrane small, eyespots in to rows and grouped laterally. Upper lip short, free edge; lower lip thin projecting ventrally. Three pairs of branchiae, first pair with 3 filaments at each side, second pair with 4 filaments at each side, and third pair with 5–6 filaments at each side. Fifteen ventral shields. Thirty-four pairs of notopodia; notochaetae bilimbate of two lengths; long chaetae straight, short chaetae curved. Thoracic and abdominal uncini with dental formula MF:2:3. Pygidium missing.

Remarks: According to Londoño-Mesa and Carrera-Parra (2005), these specimens have clear differences compared to T. haitiensis in terms of the number of branchial filaments, ventral shields, number of pair of notopodia, and uncinal formula. Nevertheless, these specimens are in poor condition and remain unnamed.

Distribution: Mexican Caribbean and Gulf of Honduras. Intertidal to 39m.
