Polloni, Rowe & Teal, 1973:170.

Type species: Biremis blandi Polloni, Rowe & Teal, 1973 ; by original designation.

Diagnosis: Tentacular membrane enlarged; eyespots absent; ventral shields absent, but two longitudinal muscular ventral ridges separated by midventral groove; thoracic and abdominal notopodia and thoracic neuropodia absent; abdominal neuropodia bilobed; uncini avicular, in single rows.

Remarks: There is only one species described in the genus, collected from deep water off Nassau, Bahamas. Nevertheless, after the establishment of the genus, there have been not further records of the genus. Thus, this is the second record. The genus was named because of the two long distal neuropodial lobes.
