Herophydrus nigrescens Biström & Nilsson, 2002 View in CoL

Herophydrus nigrescens Biström & Nilsson, 2002: 49 View in CoL was transferred to genus Hygrotus View in CoL subgenus Hygrotus View in CoL (s. str.) by Villastrigo et al. (2017b). Thus, this name became a junior secondary homonym of Hygrotus (Leptolambus) nigrescens ( Fall 1919: 9) View in CoL which was originally published in the binomen Coelambus nigrescens .

Since no synonym of nigrescens Biström & Nilsson exists, the name must be substituted by a new replacement name. This is why I hereby substitute the invalid name nigrescens Biström & Nilsson, 2002 as published in the binomen Herophydrus nigrescens View in CoL by the new replacement name Hygrotus View in CoL (s. str.) bistromi nom. nov. The name is a substantive in the singular genitive formed from the family name of Olof Biström (Helsinki, Finland) in honour of his exceptional contributions to entomology.

Notes: Thanks are due to the authors of Herophydrus nigrescens, Olof Biström and Anders Nilsson (Mullsjö, Nordmaling, Sweden), for agreeing in the substitution name being published here
